More Federal Aid Coming to Alabama Counties Hit By Ivan

Washington, D.C. – The U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Federal Emergency Management Agency say more money is coming to the state to help victims of Hurricane Ivan. Agriculture officials say almost $26 million will be available for farmland and forest restoration through the emergency conservation, emergency watershed and forest rehabilitation programs. Four additional counties are also now available for public assistance. FEMA officials say Bullock, Cherokee, Jackson and Houston Counties bring the total number up to 50 counties in the state that can now receive federal aid.
