Washington, DC – Congressman Spencer Bachus is now one of the newest members of a powerful congressional committee. He's on the Republican Steering Committee of the House of Representatives. His colleagues elected Bachus to the position this week. He'll represent Region Nine which includes Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi. The G-O-P Steering Committee is responsible for determining the committee chair of the House of Representatives and all Republican committee assignments for the next Congress.
