Opp, AL – Former Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore is continuing to attack the judicial system, calling it hypocritical and saying it's time for Christians to stand up for their beliefs. Moore spoke Wednesday to about 160 people at a civic club meeting in Opp. He discussed his decision to put the 10 Commandments monument in the Alabama Judiciary Building. He still insists the decision was legal and says the monument did not contradict the First Amendment because it did not establish a religion. Moore's speech comes just more than a week after Covington County Circuit Judge Ashley McKathan started hearing cases while wearing a robe embroidered with the 10 Commandments. McKathan was present at Wednesday's meeting. He says he had the robe made to acknowledge the Biblical foundation of modern law.
