Alabama Celebrities Agree to Be Role Models

Montgomery, AL – Three Alabama natives have agreed to be role models for students in career and technical education programs. The state Board of Education passed resolutions Thursday commending Courteney Cox Arquette, Bo Jackson and Lionel Richie. All three attended public schools in Alabama. Arquette was an actress on the television show "Friends." She was a student at Mountain Brook High School in Jefferson County. Jackson won a Heisman Trophy while a running back at Auburn University. He also attended McAdory High School in Jefferson County. Richie, meanwhile, was a singer for "The Commodores." He attended Tuskegee Institute High School in Macon County. The three did not attend Thursday's meeting.
