Americus, GA – Habitat for Humanity officials say retirement benefits are being negotiated for the organization's founder and his wife. Alabama native Millard Fuller has been fired after a lengthy dispute over allegations of inappropriate conduct toward a female staffer. Fuller's wife, Linda, co-founded the Christian home-building organization with him almost 30 years ago. She was also fired Monday. Fuller called the announcement an unfortunate turn of events. The Habitat board's executive committee cited months of conflict with Fuller concerning charges that he made sexual advances during a 2003 business trip. The committee said there was not sufficient evidence to substantiate those charges, but the committee also says Fuller would not cooperate with the investigation. He did agree in late 2004 to step aside as CEO but to retain the ceremonial title of founder and president.
