Auburn Provost Resigns

By Alabama Public Radio

Auburn, AL – Auburn Provost Thomas Hanley resigned Wednesday. Hanley told interim President Ed Richardson in a letter of resignation that he would accept the temporary post of vice-president for special projects. He'll primarily be studying potential funding sources for the Auburn Research Park. Hanley is the 15th employee to be fired or shifted to lower-paying positions since Richardson took over last January. Richardson says he'll immediately begin an internal search for an interim successor. Hanley was hired in 2003 by former president William Walker. Governor Riley forced Walker to resign in 2004.
