Tax Renewal Goes Before Limestone County Voters

By Alabama Public Radio

Athens, AL – Voters in Limestone County will decide a property tax issue Tuesday. They will determine whether 20-year property taxes designated for Athens and Limestone County schools should continue. City schools have one-point-one million dollars riding on the decision, and county schools have two-point-six million on the line. Athens City Schools Superintendent Orman Bridges Junior and Limestone County Superintendent Barry Carroll say it's important for voters to know that NO new taxes are involved.
