Another Former HealthSouth CFO Testifies

By Alabama Public Radio

Birmingham, AL – Another former HealthSouth finance chief has implicated former C-E-O Richard Scrushy in the company's massive accounting scandal. Tadd McVay is the fourth former chief financial officer to testify in the trial. He said Wednesday that Scrushy was obsessed with the company's stock prices and frequently asked about the price of HealthSouth shares. Prosecutors are trying to convince the jury that Scrushy directed the fraud to make millions of dollars from stock sales, bonuses and salary. McVay is one of 15 former HealthSouth executives to plead guilty in the case. He was sentenced to six months of house arrest, five years probation and 60-thousand dollar in fines.
