Two Alabama Soldiers Honored for Bravery

Fort Rucker, AL – Two Alabama National Guardsmen have been recognized for bravery in battle. Chief Warrant Officer Three Gary Clark of Lineville received the Bronze Star Medal. Specialist William Johnson Junior of Ohatchee received the Army Commendation Medal with "Valor." Their convoy was attacked while on its way to Camp Victory, Kuwait, during the last part of their journey before coming home to Alabama. The 11-51st Engineer team was attacked in Iraq on May first, 2004. Clark and Johnson received the awards Sunday at the National Guard Training Center at Fort McClellan.
