Scrushy Jurors End Deliberations for the Week

By Alabama Public Radio

Birmingham, AL – Jurors considering the case against Richard Scrushy have ended their deliberations for the week. The jury met about five-and-half-hours Friday without reaching a verdict. However, jurors did ask Federal Judge Karon Bowdre about the possibility of a deadlock. After consulting with both sides, Bowdre told the panel she was confident they could reach a verdict. Prosecutors caution about misinterpreting the jury's question. The defense, however, saw the question as a positive development for them. Jury deliberations will resume Monday morning at nine o'clock.
