UA, AU Students Will Pay More Tuition

By Alabama Public Radio

Tuscaloosa, AL – Students in the University of Alabama and Auburn University systems will pay a bit more for their education this fall. Trustees voted Friday to raise tuition rates. At the University of Alabama, tuition and fees will go up five percent for in-state undergraduate students and six-point-seven percent for out-of-state students. At Auburn University, tuition and fees will go up four-point-one percent. But officials with both universities are trying to put a positive spin on the increases. They say the hikes are less than last year's because they have more state money for the upcoming school year.
