MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Alabama Power officials say power has been restored to roughly 98 percent of customers who lost service during Monday's storms. Company officials Thursday said power has been restored to more than 218,000 customers and crews were working to restore service to more than 4,000 customers in the eastern region of the state. Alabama Power officials say Blount, Calhoun, Cleburne, Etowah and St. Clair counties saw the most damage and roughly 95,000 outages were reported in the region. Officials say more customers in company's east region lost power Monday than during the April 27, 2011 tornado, Hurricane Ivan and Hurricane Katrina.
