Temperatures to plunge across Alabama

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) — Bitterly cold temperatures are expected across much of Alabama in coming days as a strong cold front is expected to usher in a blast of winter weather. The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather advisory early Thursday that projects much colder-than-average temperatures lasting into early next week. By early Friday morning, wind chill values are expected to drop into the single digits in much of northern and central Alabama. It is expected to get even colder early next week. By Tuesday morning, low temperatures in parts of northern Alabama are expected to drop into the single digits and lower teens, with wind chill values of 5 below zero.
