It’s the Tide versus the Bulldogs for tonight’s College Football Championship. Georgia and Alabama each won their shot at the title by winning the Rose Bowl and the Sugar Bowl respectively. Now they’re playing for the national title, and APR’s Pat Duggins got some predictions from fans near Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

The Playoff Fan Central event gives supporters from both teams a chance to get their picture taken with the championship trophy they hope their team will take home. Tonight’s game will be a contest of former allies. Georgia Coach Kirby Smart used to be Alabama’s defensive coordinator. Bulldogs fan Ryan Kirby thinks Georgia will win, but not because Smart has insider knowledge of the Tide.

“It’s kind of a different…you know, different team, different players, so it’s not the same team when he left…”

Thomas Heaton is equally sure Alabama will win, and his roots with the Crimson Tide go back to the 1960’s when and his father watched Coach Bear Bryant…

“he actually…my father actually broke a coffee table when Joe Namath had an interception. That’s how far back it goes.”

Heaton’s whole family is with him for the game, so his furniture appears safe for tonight.
