WAYNESBORO, Tenn. (AP) — Authorities say a man has been charged with evading arrest after leading police on a chase from Alabama to Tennessee.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said in a news release Monday that Kyle Lee Jones fled a traffic stop by police in St. Florian, Alabama, on July 8, 2018. The state police agency says police pursued Jones through northern Alabama and into south Tennessee.

TBI says a Wayne County officer exited his car and ordered Jones to stop. Agents say Jones swerved toward the officer, who shot and hit the car.

Jones ran out of gas and was arrested.

Jones also has been charged with reckless endangerment in an indictment. Online records show he has been issued a $20,000 bond. Records do not show if he has a lawyer.
