School resource officers in one Alabama county getting raise

School resource officers are getting a pay raise, starting Saturday, in one Alabama county.

WAAY-TV reports the Morgan County Sheriff's Office says only six of 14 schools in the county have resource officers so they're hoping the salary boost will encourage more retired sheriff's deputies to work at schools.

Officials say SRO's are funded by the sheriff's office and the district, and this year they will be making about $1,000 more.
