20 arrested during George Floyd death protest in Alabama

HOOVER, Ala. (AP) — Police said 20 people were arrested at a weekend protest near Hoover City Hall while demonstrating against the death of George Floyd in Minnesota.

Hoover police Lt. Keith Czeskleba told WBRC-TV most of Saturday's arrests resulted in disorderly conduct charges after protesters blocked traffic on a highway. Other charges included criminal trespass and resisting arrest, and one person was charged with carrying a firearm during a demonstration.

Police said no protesters or officers suffered injuries.

A white Minneapolis police officer who was videotaped pressing his knee on Floyd's neck as Floyd pleaded for air has been charged with third-degree murder in the man's death.
