Officials assessing damage from tornado touchdown in Alabama

The National Weather Service said a tornado touched down in Alabama over the weekend. 

A storm survey team said there is evidence that it touched down in southern Jefferson County near Bessemer. Surveyors said the storm's top winds reached 75 mph. 

Officials said some trees were uprooted and homes recieved some structural damage.
