Samford University trustees have selected a new president from Washington state.
Beck A. Taylor will take over the position on July 1, replacing the retiring Andrew Westmoreland.
Taylor, 51, has been the president of Whitworth University in Spokane since 2010. Before that, he was the dean of Samford's business school for five years.
