After casino defeat, Alabama lawmakers look to lottery bills

Alabama lawmakers have proposed two new lottery bills after other gambling legislation was voted down.

Republican senators have introduced the bills in response to their constituents reportedly wanting the state to no longer be one of only five that does not have a state lottery.

The futures of the proposals are uncertain after legislation allowing multiple casinos to be built failed to pass, as well as disputes over how the required changes would affect existing bingo operators.
