Alabama governor signs 'vaccine passport' ban

So-called vaccine passports will not be required in Alabama after Gov. Kay Ivey signed a law banning the requirement of COVID-19 vaccination to enter businesses, schools or event.

The legislation, written by Sen. Arthur Orr, prohibits government entities from issuing documentation to certify vaccination status and prevent people from being denied entry if that have not been vaccinated against the coronavirus.

Some House Democrats opposed the legisation because of its broad language and argued it was more about politics than public health.
