Unwanted pets are overwhelming an animal shelter in Montgomery.

People are dropping off animals they originally brought home during the pandemic.

At the Montgomery Humane Society's main shelter there are 100 dogs being dropped off a day, according to the Montgomery Advertiser.

Drop-off rates are outpacing adoption rates, especially with larger dogs that are having to be euthanized.
