The Alabaster Career Center will host a jobs fair tomorrow from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm.

Fourty employers across the Shelby County area will be gathered at the Grande Hall in Columbiana’s Old Mill Square Park. Food trucks will be set up outside the location.

Dale Cookson is a business service representative for the ACC. Cookson said there are jobs fit for everyone at this event.

“There’s construction companies there, there’s distribution companies there, Kellis Vegetation, Krispy Kreme, Crown Distribution – I mean, there’s a wide variety of employers,” he said.

The ACC regularly posts a digital flyer on their Facebook page with a list of employers attending the event. Cookson said people should do their best to research the companies they are interested in before coming to the event.

“Employers are not impressed when you walk up to them and say, ‘so, what are you hiring for?’ Show that you’ve put some effort forth to learn something about what’s going on," he said. "If there’s something in particular, maybe you want to focus your resume toward that kind of work.”

Potential employees are asked to dress professionally and provide multiple copies of their resumes. Masks are not required to enter, but highly encouraged by the ACC.
