Road developer may challenge Kay Ivey for Governor's job

Former gubernatorial candidate and toll road developer, Tim James, is considering running against Gov. Kay Ivey next year.

The 59-year old James has defended people’s decisions to decline the COVID-19 vaccine. He called transgender acceptance, critical race theory and yoga in gym class part of a “beast with three heads” threatening children.  James told the Montgomery Advertiser that this issue is his main campaign message.

"Many problems exist today in America, but they are pale compared to what this nation will look like if we lose this cultural war, and
America becomes a secular, godless nation flowing to and fro in the wind, with no plumb line," he told the paper.

Ivey’s campaign joked that it appreciated his commitment on fighting yoga.

He is also the son of former Gov. Fob James. James has not officially announced his candidacy but says he will make a decision by the end of the year.
