Alabama lawmakers may need a special session to decide what to do with the rest of the state's pandemic relief funds.

The governor's office is discussing calling a special session that would focus on fund allocation during the regular session that begins Tuesday. A spokesperson for Gov. Kay Ivey said the governor wants the issue to be a top priority for the legislative session.

The state of Alabama received $2.12 billion from Congress through the American Rescue Plan.
