The rate of COVID-19 vaccinations continues to decrease in Alabama even though less than 30 percent of the state have received both doses.

The Alabama Department of Public Health said that the number of people getting shots in the past few days is similar to the amount in January when supply was extremely limited.

Officials are worried the threat of the new coronavirus is higher than necessary because large numbers of people are refusing the innoculations.

The state ranked next to last in the country for rate of new COVID-19 cases over the last two weeks.
