Montgomery, AL – The Ten Commandments monument has been removed from the state judicial building rotunda in Montgomery. Movers lifted the monument onto wooden blocks, placed it onto a rolling platform and then moved it out of public view. It happened shortly after nine o'clock this morning. Protest leaders have asked demonstrators to remain calm and continue praying. Some protestors had been at the building several days, vowing to keep the monument from being removed. Meanwhile, a federal court hearing scheduled this afternoon in Mobile has been canceled. Two monument supporters filed the lawsuit to keep the monument from being moved elsewhere. A hearing had been scheduled for three o'clock, but court officials announced the cancellation about the same time the monument was being removed.
