Montgomery, AL – The state Public Health Department has received its entire flu vaccine shipment and is distributing it to county health departments. Winkler Sims of the health department says the shots should be available beginning October First. This year's supply cost one-point-three million dollars for 280 thousand doses. That's expected to be enough, but Sims says budget problems will prevent the state from ordering extra vaccines. He says some counties may order them independently. The Centers for Disease Control says October and November are the best times to receive a flu shot.
