Montgomery, AL – The Court of the Judiciary has removed Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore from office for ethics violations.
The Court ruled Moore violated the Canons of Judicial Ethics when he defied a federal court order to remove his Ten Commandments monument from public view in the Alabama Judicial Building. In his trial yesterday, Moore argued that he defied the order so he could unholding his oath of office. However, the Judiciary voted unanimously today to remove Moore from the bench.
Moore can appeal the matter to the Alabama Supreme Court. Today's ruling also does not prevent Moore from running for re-election or for some other state office
