Millbrook, AL – Services for Henry Abrams, a 107-year-old veteran of World War One, will be held this weekend in Millbrook.
Abrams served in Rainbow Division, Ninth Cavalry in France and was honorably discharged from the Army in 1919. He passed away last Sunday. His funeral will be held Saturday at Jackson Chapel in Millbrook.
State Veterans' Affairs officials say Abrams was among the final three World War One veterans in Alabama. Charlie Cook, who is also 107, lives in a nursing home in Scottsboro. 104-year-old Robert Weatherly lives in a Birmingham nursing home.
Nationally, there are fewer than 200 surviving World War One veterans.
