Montgomery, AL – Former Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore will be back in court today to appeal his removal from office. Moore's attorneys will present his case before seven retired judges. They are replacing Alabama's eight elected justices who stepped down from the case. They voted in August to obey a federal court order and removed Moore's Ten Commandments monument from the state judicial building rotunda. The court will hear opening statements at 1:30 this afternoon at the Alabama Judicial Building. But Moore's legal team is still complaining about the replacement court. They say another method should have been used. Moore's defenders say the retired judges have no accountability to state voters if people don't like their final decision. Meanwhile, other supporters are promising to run out of office all of Alabama's associate justices and the ethics panel judges who expelled Moore from office in November.
