Basile, Louisiana – A Louisiana district attorney says there was definitely misconduct between guards at a private prison and some female inmates from Alabama. The guards have been accused of making sexual contact with the inmates, and the district attorney says he will pursue criminal charges. About 200 female prisoners from Alabama are being housed at the South Louisiana Correctional Center. They were transferred there last year to help relieve overcrowding at Tutwiler Prison for Women in Wetumpka. L-C-S Corrections owns and operates the private prison. Alabama pays the company about 23-dollars per inmate per day to house the women.
