Montgomery, AL – The 11-65th Military Police Company of Fairhope and Brewton will not return home as soon as planned. The Alabama Army National Guard unit is among 41 others that will continue participating in Operation Iraqi Freedom to maintain security in Iraq. The Army did not say how long the delay would last but indicated the unit's service may extend another four months. The 11-65th activated with 170 personnel in March of 2003. The company provides protection to military forces and Iraqi civilians. It also has helped train Iraqi Police Force members.
