Edwards Makes Campaign Stop in Birmingham

By Alabama Public Radio

Birmingham, AL – Democratic vice presidential nominee John Edwards will make his first campaign stop in Alabama Tuesday when he visits Birmingham for a fundraiser. The North Carolina Senator will speak to donors Tuesday night at the Summit Club at an invitation-only event. Party supporters hope to raise almost 500-thousand dollars. The Kerry-Edwards ticket faces an uphill battle in Alabama. The state has voted Republican in every presidential campaign since 1980.
