Alabama –
Shelters and Animals
Many storm shelters do not accept pets. West Alabama Animal Rescue already has a number of foster homes set up to take pets for the short term. They are also looking for more foster homes. The Emergency Animal Rescue Service in Birmingham also can house pets (primarily dogs, cats and horses) - the boarding is offered at no cost.
