Montgomery, AL – County health departments in Alabama counties will give a limited number of flu shots over a four-day period starting Tuesday. State Health Officer Don Williamson said Friday that 60 thousand doses of flu vaccine have been distributed to county health offices. And 65 of Alabama's 67 county health departments are following the same distribution schedule. Jefferson and Mobile Counties are working out their own plans because of higher demand. In all the other counties, citizens whose last names begin with the letters A through D can go for vaccinations at the county health department Tuesday. Those whose last names start with E to J can go Wednesday. Those that begin with K through R on Thursday, and the S through Z's are on Friday. Patients considered at-risk are people over the age of 65 or under the age of two, those with chronic serious health conditions, pregnant women and health care workers who care for high-risk groups.
