Auburn Probation Decision Nears

By Alabama Public Radio

Atlanta, GA – The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools is expected to announce early next week its decision concerning Auburn University. The accrediting agency placed the university on probation last December over concerns about the school's board of trustees. Governor Bob Riley and Auburn University Interim President Ed Richardson want the university off of probation. They were in Atlanta Friday to talk with SACS officials with the hope of getting Auburn's full academic standing restored.
