Montgomery, AL – Former Governor Don Siegelman says another investigation into his administration is politically motivated. He says it's part of an effort to derail a potential gubernatorial campaign. The F-B-I and the state attorney general's office have been taking records from three state agencies. They're records of industrial development work performed during Siegelman's time i office. Records from the state Development Office, the state Finance Department, and the state Licensing Board for General Contractors have been taken for review. The records from the Licensing Board for General Contractors involve Sherrod Construction. Siegelman picked that company to build a training facility at the Honda plant in Lincoln.
