Former Justice Will Run for Lieutenant Governor

By Alabama Public Radio

Montgomery, AL – Former Alabama Supreme Court Justice Terry Butts says he's planning to campaign for lieutenant governor next year. Butts is the second Republican to enter the primary for lieutenant governor. Mo Brooks, a Madison County commissioner and former state legislator, announced his candidacy last year. Several other Republicans and Democrats also have said they're considering campaigning for the office. The biggest reason the office is generating interest is because its incumbent, Democrat Lucy Baxley, is considering a run for the governor's office next year
