Mobile County Teachers Sue Board, Superintendent

By Alabama Public Radio

Mobile, AL – Mobile County school teachers have filed a class-action lawsuit against Mobile County Superintendent Harold Dodge and the school board. The teachers say they're overworked and underpaid. The suit says the teachers have too much paperwork, they must administer too many standardized tests and they haven't received a pay raise in several years. The lawsuit follows another suit that was filed in November. Bus drivers, cafeteria workers, custodians and other school employees asked for a raise in that suit. That case is pending.
