Pittsburgh, PA – An Alabama man will be one of 15 people honored Thursday with Carnegie Medals for acts of heroism. Timothy Kent Sullivan of Millry and another man stopped to help rescue a third man from his burning tractor-trailer when his rig overturned in a ditch and caught fire in 2003. The Pittsburgh-based Carnegie Hero Fund Commission meets five times a year to choose their heroes. The heroes are brought to the commission's attention through media coverage or tips to the commission's Web site. Sullivan will receive a bronze medal and $3500.
