Jasper, AL – The accolades continue for former Alabama Congressman Tom Bevill, who died Monday at the age of 84. Bevill spent 30 years as a Democrat in the U-S House representing what is now Alabama's fourth congressional district. He retired in 1997, and Republican Congressman Robert Aderholt has held the seat since then. He says Bevill was very kind to him and his family as Aderholt made the transition into office. Aderholt also says he never heard anyone say anything negative about Bevill, and he says Bevill's death is a loss to Alabama and the entire nation. Visitation will be held Wednesday at 5 P-M at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home in Jasper. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 A-M at First Baptist Church in Jasper.
