Taser Guns Going Into Birmingham Schools

By Alabama Public Radio

Birmingham, AL – Birmingham Mayor Bernard Kincaid says he no longer opposes the use of taser guns in city schools. Kincaid had previously opposed the use of the tasers, but he agreed Tuesday to allow them after learning more about their health risks. Kincaid says he discussed the move with the city's police chief and with school officials. School resource officers will begin carrying the tasers soon.
