Foster Care Program Receives Award

By Alabama Public Radio

Montgomery, AL – The Alabama Foster and Adoptive Parent Association will receive a national award for its work. It has been named the 2005 State Foster Parent Association of the Year. The recognition comes from the National Foster Parent Association. The award will be presented this week during the organization's convention in California. Alabama Department of Human Resources Commissioner Page Walley says D-H-R is very proud of the recognition. Walley says D-H-R values and respects the association's enthusiastic advocacy on behalf of Alabama's foster families. The month of May has been designated as National Foster Care Month.
