Montgomery, AL – Governor Bob Riley says he's confident state and local leaders have addressed the needs of Alabama's four military installations. He says all have undergone infrastructure improvements and have been given better highway access. The governor says that should make the bases even more attractive to the nation's military operations. Communities across the nation are preparing for Friday's announcement from federal Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld. He'll announce Friday morning which military bases have been recommended for closure. It's part of the Base Realignment and Closure process known as BRAC.
