Baby Dies, Another in Hospital After Left in Car

By Alabama Public Radio

Harvest, AL – A 10-month-old child is dead, and a second is in the hospital after being left in a car Tuesday in extremely high temperatures. Authorities say the twins were found in a vehicle at the family's Harvest residence Tuesday afternoon. Madison County Sheriff's Lieutenant Brad Beasley says the female twin died while being transported to the hospital. He says the male twin is in stable condition and is expected to fully recover. Temperatures were in the 90s Tuesday, and the temperature inside the vehicle was more than 100 degrees. Authorities have not released the names of the children or their parents. Beasley says the incident is under investigation, but no charges have been filed.
