Silas, AL – A 21-month-old girl was killed Tuesday when her grandmother backed a car over her in a driveway in Choctaw County. Authorities say Fredonia Williams failed to see her granddaughter, April, behind her Pontiac when she backed out of the driveway Tuesday afternoon. The accident happened in Silas. The town has about 500 residents. It's near the Alabama-Mississippi state line. The child was transported to Chatom to meet a LifeFlight-Mobile helicopter. But the Washington County coroner pronounced her dead before she could be airlifted.
