Montgomery, AL – Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Drayton Nabers says he'll run for a full-term in next year's election. Governor Bob Riley appointed Nabers to the position last year, and the upcoming election will be his first for public office. Nabers says he has enjoyed the judicial and administrative duties of being chief justice. He says he'd like to keep the job for the next six years. Nabers is 64 years old and is running as a Republican. If he gets through the primary election, he may have to face Democrat Sue Bell Cobb, a judge on the Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals. She says she's planning to announce her intentions very soon.
