Tuscaloosa AL – The CA Fred campus of Shelton State Community College in Tuscaloosa is celebrating it's 40th anniversary this week. The campus was inspired by a meeting back in 1962 between former Governor George Wallace and civil rights leader Joe Mallisham. On Thursday, school officials marked the 40th anniversary by dedicating a 2-point-5 million dollar renovation of the college's administrative building. Another 7 million dollar renovation effort is expected to begin next year.
