Washington, DC – There's a new study that gives Alabama's efforts to fight prostate cancer a failing grade. The National Prostate Cancer Coalition says it flunked the state partly because Alabama ranks fourth in the nation for deaths from the disease. The state also does not require insurance companies to cover prostate screenings. The National Prostate Cancer Coalition and the Community Care Network of Montgomery have planned an awareness campaign that offers free screenings. Alabama isn't alone at the bottom of the list, by the way. Four other states also failed the study: Arkansas, Idaho, Wisconsin and Mississippi.
